Alesana = A Place Where the Sun Is Silent adalah album studio keempat oleh Alesana. Hal ini dirilis melalui Epitaph Records pada 18 Oktober 2011. Album ini diproduksi oleh Kris Crummett, yang juga bekerja pada Kekosongan itu. Menjadi konsep album kedua dirilis oleh Alesana, A Place Where the Sun Is Silent berfokus pada "The Inferno" oleh Dante Alighieri. [1]

Pada 24 Agustus 2011 Alternatif Press perdana lagu pertama dari album, "A Gilded Masquerade" dan pada 21 September 2011 Alternatif Press perdana lagu kedua dari album,  "A Forbidden Dance". Pada tanggal 4 Oktober 2011, band ini merilis sebuah video musik untuk "Circle VII: Sins of The Lion", dengan klip live performance. Pada tanggal 11 Oktober 2011 full album itu dialirkan pada AlternativePress.com

Album ini rilis terpanjang saat ini oleh band, berjalan pada 1 jam dan total 2 menit (tidak termasuk bonus track edisi deluxe itu).

iTunes keliru berlabel judul beberapa lagu (nilai) dalam versi Deluxe dari lagu tersebut.
